SGB responds to an open call to unite in the fight against the COVID-19 outbreak from the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta in Large-Scale Social Collaboration

Jakarta, Indonesia, May 15, 2020 – The outbreak of Covid-19 in the DKI Jakarta area as the country's capital has so far been spreading. Meanwhile Large-scale Social Restrictions have been running in DKI Jakarta Province since April 10, 2020. This has a significant impact on the economy. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has now provided social assistance to more than one million households in the Large-scale Social Collaboration (KSBB) program.

KSBB is a collaborative program of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government that places the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government as a platform provider for humanitarian assistance initiatives from companies that want to be directed to disadvantaged citizens. The KSBB will target underprivileged families registered by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government as routine recipients of social assistance.

Suntory Garuda Beverage (SGB) will provide products to be distributed to the public in the Government's social assistance package through four official aggregators who carry out a Cooperation Agreement for the KSBB with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to receive and distribute aid. The intended aggregators are Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT), BAZNAS / BAZIS DKI Jakarta, PMI DKI Jakarta and Rumah Zakat. These four aggregators are organizations with core activities and focus in the social and community fields.

SGB also supports Large-Scale Social Collaboration by collaborating with Kompas Gramedia Group, in the form of products OKKY Flurry. This one of Indonesia’s biggest media group then will deliver it to a number of COVID-19 hospitals in Jakarta and Tangerang. In addition, SGB also supports the Journalists Care Movement through provision of the same products, to reach journalists affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. This assistance was handed over this week at the Journalists Care Secretariat in the South Jakarta area.

Charles Rossi, Chief Executive Officer, SGB said, "Jakarta is the epicenter of the COVID-19 outbreak in Indonesia and is the first city in Indonesia to carry out physical restrictions in all aspects that have an impact on weakening economic activities leading to increasing unemployment and decreasing public income. Social assistance is urgently needed. We support the Large-scale Social Collaboration program initiated by the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta where the Company can provide support that will alleviate the condition of the community through a platform with appropriate distribution and monitoring, and also highly appreciates our fellow journalists who strive in the vanguard to provide relevant and accurate information and news to the community. "

Erna, KSBB Coordinator of DKI Jakarta PMI, said, "KSBB has now recorded more than one million recipient families collected in 2686 RWs, 69 orphanages, 8 nursing homes, 6 disability homes, and 107 pesantren. The amount continues to be improved following changes in the field to ensure that all assistance is always directed only to those entitled to receive it. The assistance received by the aggregator appointed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government for accountability of its distribution is guaranteed with a monitoring system implemented at the Kelurahan, Kecamatan and Kota levels. We thank Suntory Garuda Company for the support of the milk beverage products OKKY Flurry, that we will distribute in the fourth week of the 2020 Ramadan. "

Barnas Kamora, GM Business & Marketing Group of Radio Kompas Gramedia thank SGB for moving together to fight COVID-19 by providing support in the form of beverage products donations to medical personnel who are struggling at the forefront in fighting the COVID-19 virus. Since the outbreak of this virus in Indonesia, Kompas Gramedia Group has launched an initiative by collaborating with the Company to provide assistance to a number of medical teams.

Having previously collaborated with IDI JDN to provide personal protective equipment (PPE) assistance to more than 22 hospitals in 12 cities in Indonesia, SGB also provided product support to a number of foundations that focus on the welfare of children, especially those affected by COVID-19. This is in line with the Company's vision of “Growing for Good” and value of “Giving Back to Society”, to always make a good contribution to the community where we live and work.

About Large-scale Social Collaboration (KSBB)

Large-scale Social Collaboration (KSBB) is a movement to help others from the community for the community in the Special Capital Province of Jakarta by connecting the community giving and receiving aid. The KSBB was formed based on the belief that the people of Jakarta had a very strong spirit of solidarity and togetherness, even though it was during the PSBB period.

Thus, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government initiated the concept of Large-scale Social Collaboration to facilitate the spirit of shoulder to shoulder community in Jakarta. KSBB beneficiaries are prioritized for: RW, Orphanage Foundation, Pesantren, Nursing Home, Disability Nursing Home, and other priority locations.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government positions itself as a platform provider for donors and recipients of aid. Thus, the main role of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is to prepare data on citizens who are eligible to receive assistance and to bring together donors who wish to contribute through the KSBB platform.

KSBB has the right target where the management of the KSBB monitored by DKI Jakarta Provincial Government uses one data so that assistance can be sought to be spread more evenly while minimizing any overlap in the distribution of aid. The KSBB also has credibility that is maintained by the mechanism of reporting aid received by citizens as a form of government transparency

The collaboration is carried out for the aggregators who are partners of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in distributing assistance from communities that are legal entities and are Licensed Social Fund Collectors (ACT, DKI BAZNAS, PMI, and Rumah Zakat).
